James Franco embarrassed he was exposed by a teen he tried to chat up on Instagram.
He was accused of chatting up a blonde 17-year-old on Instagram - and now the actor has confessed and admitted he is "embarrassed" about the exchange
James Franco has confessed that he's "embarrassed" after being caught out trying to seduce a Scottish teenager online.
The Spiderman actor's cringe-worthy chat-up lines were leaked following a message exchange with the 17-year-old on Instagram.
Franco, 35, admitted he's a good example of how not to use social media.
Speaking on US TV, he said: "I'm embarrassed and I guess I'm just a model of how social media is tricky."
Appearing to disprove rumours it was a publicity stunt or April Fools joke, he continued: "It's the way that people meet each other today.
"But what I've learned, I guess because I'm new to it, is you don't know who's on the other end."
The Hollywood star made the admission on Live with Kelly and Michael, saying he never thought the conversation would be made public.
"You get a feel for them, you don't know who you're talking to. I used bad judgement and I learned my lesson.
"Unfortunately in my position, not only do I have to go through the embarrassing rituals of meeting someone, but if I do that, then it gets published for the world so it's doubly embarrassing," he said.
